Red Dead Redemption: 5 Characters John Marston Should Have Killed
The One We Wished
Jack Marston
Would it ever have happened? No. Is it controversial? Again, no. Jack Why dyou treat me like a kid? Marston is the bane of most gamers experience during Red Dead Redemption. The arrival of the whiny, troubled child who has up without a father, marks a complete change in the storyline as finally John has succeeded and can live the life he has pined for. But Jack resents his father for their kidnap and long incarceration, seeing that the player has battled to free them does not compute with the boy. Probably a factor which heightens his annoying persona is that you have rode through the story putting the world to rights, defeating criminals and taming the West just to get them back only for the player to be given menial tasks like herding cows and hunting elk rather than criminals. The very fact that you are forced to play as Jack at the end of the game, especially if you still have stranger side missions to complete, is utterly annoying. You have spent the game fighting for John to succeed and live happily and yet, you are left in the wilderness playing as Jack. Jacks voice can just grain upon gamers with, Work, ya damn nag, imprinted into my memory. Jack is no John, not by a long shot. John was an enjoyable character who imbedded humour alongside humanity and an endearing sense of morality. Jack is seemingly depressed and revenge driven, once Ross is dispatched he often replies to NPCs with dejected statements, such as, I've got nothing else to live for.I know John Marston would never have killed Jack, who did everything in his power to save them including sacrificing himself. I just wish, as a young Jack compromised himself in one instance when he attempts to hunt a grizzly, that John maybe could have turned up a few minutes later and saved us the pain of playing as the arrogant young disappointment and putting up with his whiny cries for love.
Is there anyone Ive missed? Let me know who you want John to take on.
