In Red Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare DLC, the side mission 'Birth of the Conservation Movement' ends with an out-of-nowhere twist, when after spending an afternoon hunting down the baby-eating Sasquatch, you're left with one last monster to take care of.
The twist came when it turns out that the creatures don't eat babies at all, and sustain themselves on berries, and you've been killing them mercilessly on the word of a rambling, hysterical man in the woods.
