Red Dead Redemption: 7 Strangest Missions You Might Have Missed

1. I Know You

The absolute strangest mission on this list, which still sees debate now - six years after the game's release - is the mystery of the Strange Man.

First encountered near the start of the game, the Strange Man knows a lot about John's personality and past deeds. He tests John in a variety of ways during our encounters with him and ultimately proves to be bullet proof and knows where John will ultimately come to rest, considering his remark of "this is a lovely spot" while stood at John's grave site.

A bit creepy, but ultimately interesting, I was a little disappointed to not have a full explanation of the Strange Man by the end of Red Dead Redemption, but there's a lot of interesting theories out there.

He embodies the 'Redemption' part of the game's title, often testing morality in his missions, and refers to himself as an 'accountant' during dialogue with John. Many believe he's the devil, coming to weigh John's deeds ahead of his eventual death at the end of the game.

Personally, I like this supernatural take on the Strange Man, and it adds a lot of intrigue to the game. But much like with some of the best mysteries in Rockstar games, we simply don't know the answer.
