Resident Evil 2: 15 Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
6. Evasion Is A Key Skill, And Doors Will Slow Zombies Down
Another evolution of the old school, you'll quickly realise that you simply don't have enough bullets or health pickups to survive exploring - especially on the higher difficulty.
Like the original RE2 (and the first trilogy overall), the key is evasion. Literally just sprinting around zombies so you're just out of reach of their grabs. RE2 Remake's animations see zombies lunge further at you, but once you get used to their range, you'll get through the game's areas far easier.
Between windows that need boarding up and zombies resurrecting if you haven't blown their head clean off, you'll need to employ some solid dodge tactics at some point.
Also note: Getting a door between you and your pursuer will delay them for around 5 seconds, depending on how many enemies are trying to get through. Two room's worth of doors is better, and three seems to mean the A.I. forgets and goes back to where they were.
If you need a breather to reassess a plan of escape or attack though - just stroll through a door.
