Resident Evil 2: 15 Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
2. When In Doubt/Lost On Where To Go, Check The Map
Like its original "You figure it out!" self, this RE2 maintains a pretty open-ended structure, where key items need to be used to progress, and player signposting is kept at an absolute minimum.
In the opening chunk you'll still have characters telling you vaguely where to go, and a proximity-based cutscene will rescue you from aimlessly wandering too far down a corridor. However, it's worth adapting your Resident Evil gameplay by factoring the map into play at regular intervals.
I've already covered how it can point out doors you're yet to open, but there's almost a Metroidvania mentality you need to employ now. Check which rooms still have things to find; see which puzzles you're yet to solve and make a sweep for any key items you might have missed.
More exploration and backtracking means more chances to get neck-chomped, but the payoff is always worth it.
