2. Use Flashbangs On Lickers
Fortunately, Capcom has shown HUNK mercy and placed no more than a handful of Lickers between him and escape, but as infrequent as they are, the whip-tongued beasts remain one of the biggest run-ending threats of 4th Survivor.
Lickers are lightning-fast, disorient the senses and hit like a freight train. Walking so as to exploit their blindness is a no-go - or else you risk letting Mr. X close the gap - and attempting to outrun each will either leave you dead or close to it.
The only remaining option is to use a flash bang grenade to burst their eardrums and make a quick getaway, but the number of Lickers far outweighs the number of those (you'll need save at least one for a particularly dangerous encounter later on) HUNK has access to.
Ultimately, you'll need to measure your current situation and respond to each encounter on the fly. If you have enough reserve health, make a mad dash for the nearest door or flight of stairs and tank the inevitable hit.
If you're already hurt, it's time to think about brandishing the magnum or burning the blue+red mix to reduce the damage caused by those razor-sharp claws.
