Resident Evil 8 Title, Setting And Returning Characters LEAKED

Capcom is apparently announcing something official this month!

Following the promise last week that a bunch of new information about Capcom's next Resident Evil was imminently being revealed, a major new leak has made its way onto the Internet.

Revealed over on the website Biohazardcast, new details about the in-development release have been confirmed. First and foremost is the title, Resident Evil: Village. Now, that might not be as immediately striking as Nemesis or Biohazard, two subtitles used previously, but apparently it's being used to reference the game's main location: an infected village in Europe (anyone else getting Resi 4 vibes from that?)

It also continues the gimmick of hiding the number of the game in the title as well, as you can see in the highlighted section in the image.

The report also confirms that the story will follow on from the events of Resident Evil 7, with both that game's protagonist, Ethan, and franchise staple Chris Redfield serving as the two main characters.

With a touted release date of Q1 2021, expect to hear more soon.
