1. Ethan Winters Is Wesker

Four years after Resident Evil 7 hit shelves, we still don't know an awful lot about this faceless protagonist.

At first, it was thought that RE7 Biohazard was going to be something of a reboot for the franchise, but instead, it served as a jumping-in point for many, with the Resident Evil charm coming through as the game unfolded.

Thanks to the latest story trailer we know that everyone seems to at least know Ethan's name, but why the mystery, and why does Capcom still try to hide his face? Well, maybe they are going to pull a Phantom Pain and Ethan is actually a well-known character of old?

What if... this is the return of Albert Wesker? We covered body-swapping before, and he's one of the only major old characters currently unaccounted for.

Something has to be special about Ethan, and no doubt Capcom have a master card yet to play. Yet, the real question is: Why wasn’t he also gunned down by Chris? And why does everyone in this small part of Europe know him already? Could it be his affiliation to Mia, or something from a past infection?

With this set of RE games looking to be a trilogy, like him or not, he will have a larger role to play, other than just a faceless phantom.
