4. Ozwell E. Spencer & Progenitor Virus

The founder of the Umbrella Corporation and a crazed man with a God complex, Ozwell E. Spencer can be held responsible for much of the nightmares within Resident Evil.

Though long dead by the time of the events in the Village, Spencer's legacy can still be felt.

Once Chris makes it to Miranda's lab, he basically comes across a treasure trove of information and last-minute exposition. With one of the most important of all being a letter from Spencer to Miranda.

This letter gives us an idea of their relationship, telling us that he was once her student, as well as detailing the events of his discovery of the Progenitor Virus.

Thanks to a very unique flower called Stairway Of The Sun, the Progenitor and later T-Virus would be created.
