Resident Evil: The Good, The Bad, The Camp

13. Their Infinite Ingenuity

Resident Evil 4 It never fails to amuse me how talented our Resident Evil heroes and heroines are. Leon is only a rookie cop yet he manages to blast his way out of Resident Evil 2. He is not perturbed by the monsters and he can shoot down Mr X and complete all the puzzles without breaking a sweat. And he finds time to fall in love with Ada. And as for Jill, she is a trained soldier specialising in bio- terrorism and a munitions expert as well as being the gosh darn Master of Unlocking - all of this in her early twenties. And where the heck does Claire get her skills from? She's just a teenage chick on a motorbike who suddenly morphs into a lean mean zombie killing machine and then gets caught up in a global web of bio-weapons chicanery. Still, someone has to save the world and it sure as hell won't be me.

My first film watched was Carrie aged 2 on my dad's knee. Educated at The University of St Andrews and Trinity College Dublin. Fan of Arthouse, Exploitation, Horror, Euro Trash, Giallo, New French Extremism. Weaned at the bosom of a Russ Meyer starlet. The bleaker, artier or sleazier the better!
