Risen 2 Console Version Delayed

Console users will have to wait a little longer to become a pirate.

It was announced today that the console version of Risen 2 has been delayed to July 31, 2012 for Xbox 360 and PS3 users in North America. The new European release date will be a few days later on August 3rd. This will be the second time the console version of the game has been delayed, the game had initially been pushed back to May 25th for console users. According to the report the PC version of the game is still on track to be released on April 27th of this month; however, this is only through digital distribution. This delay for the console version of the game may actually be a good thing, because the number one thing I have heard about Risen 2 is that it needs polish. From all the reports the game has a lot of promise but the phrase being used to describe the game the most is "rough around the edges". Hopefully they clean the game up a little because a single player partly open world pirate game is something I want to play. There are not that many pirate games out there and I hope Risen 2 can do for pirate games what Red Dead Redemption did for western video games. I have been playing video games all my life but not only that I enjoy discussing them just as much as I love playing them. Therefore after going through college to get a criminal justice degree I became a freelance video game writer.
