While it's still technically a 'good' ending, the Immortal Severance option is incredibly bittersweet. The Divine Dragon's tears give Kuro his wish of being freed from his immortal curse, but it comes at the cost of his life. Using the mortal blade, Sekiro is forced to kill his Lord in the field after vanquishing Genichiro and the Sword Saint with the same weapon.

Sadly, though, after losing his master, Sekiro takes the place of the sculptor (who by this point has turned into a fire-breathing Demon of Hatred - just go with it), with Emma once again there as his helper. His prosthetic has been removed and placed on a platter, presumably so it can be bestowed on the next Shinobi who finds himself on a similar adventure.

The ending is kinda happy, considering your mission is accomplished, but the cycle is doomed to repeat all over again.
