Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - Ranking Every Boss From Easiest To Hardest
2. Owl (Memory)
If you thought the first fight with Owl was tough then you’ve seen nothing, as this is like playing against him with a 50% speed buff and more combos than you can shake a feathery stick at.
If you walk into this fight thinking you’re going to be able to repeat moves from the previous encounter, then you’re going to die. A lot. His combos have to be avoided in such slim windows that it’s easy to have your posture broken time and time again, hitting you with perilous attacks which transform into chains, or end with firecrackers that do huge amounts of damage.
I was lucky to face him with 10 gourd charges and nearly max HP, but without it I would have been one-shotted multiple times. All you can hope for in this fight, which escalated further to include teleporting and a huge sweeping fire owl attack, is to chip away, one hit at a time until Owl is dead. Again.
Doing that is a monumental task, though. The only advice I can give is punish the mikiri counter when you see it as it has a generous timing window, don’t run and instead deflect until you see the red marker and jump into him to interrupt the combo. And, finally, make sure you’re nearly maxed out, as without it, well you’ll just become a distant memory.
