Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs

2. The Terrific Sound & Voice Acting

If you've got a decent pair of headphones, use them for this game: you won't regret it. Every aspect of Shadow's sound design has a crisp, lived-in quality to it, from the voice acting - especially Camilla Luddington as Lara - to the moody musical score and note-perfect sound effects.

The subtler effects, of rocks crumbling away as you scale the side of a cliff, are especially fantastic, and add to the game's overall entrancing mood and atmosphere.

Sure, even bad AAA games usually manage solid sound work, but there's clearly been a ton of love and thought put into making the game as pleasing to the ears as possible.
