7. Pirate Pixelation

The Sims is one of the most pirated game series of all time, thanks in no small part to the huge number of expansion packs that many fans seem unprepared to pay for. EA were wise this time around, giving pirates that got their hands on illegal copies of The Sims 4 a hilarious surprise. Usually, if a sim takes a shower or bath, a small pixelated area appears to cover their dignity (and keep the game kid-friendly). Illegal copies of the game go one step further though, causing the pixelated area to grow and grow until it permanently fills the entire screen, rendering the game almost completely unplayable. It won't hold back most seasoned pirates, but it is a good-humoured way of combating those that might be experimenting with software theft for the first time.
