Skyrim: 5 Ways It Impressed

3. The Sound

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khnmwzoeRYc Where to begin? The weapons, I think. Every surface had its own sound for being struck by a sword, and it was so easy to identify the directions of incoming arrows. Dragon's roaring above intimidated you as you knew what was coming, the sound of their landing loud and aggressive. Jeremy Soule's score was pitch perfect and captured every element of the game. The ambiance, the sweet music as you ran through the streets of Whiterun, the epic dragon battle music. Brilliant stuff. While some of the games effect sounded a bit compressed, the majority of the audio work was fantastic and fitted the setting perfectly. Special shout outs to the use of surround, too.
