Skyrim DLC Hearthfire Released On Steam - Still No News On PS3

Hearthfire, the second downloadable content released for the popular fantasy RPG Skyrim, has been released on the PC via Steam. It is the second piece of downloadable content to hit the PC since Dawnguard, the first piece of DLC, was released on Steam back in August, and leaves only the Playstation 3 console to have not yet received any additional content at all. The Dawnguard DLC centres around a clan of vampires who attempt to recruit the Dragonborn in their dastardly attempt to destroy the sun, whilst Hearthfire allows gamers to build their own homes from scratch out of mined materials and also adopt children. Meanwhile, it's another week in another month and there's still no concrete news to bring you regarding the content's arrival on the PS3. All we can tell you is the obvious, that via a mysteriously deleted Tweet, Bethesda VP Pete Hines has at last conceded that the delay on the console is the developers' problem alone. Again referencing a "performance related problem", as he has done since square one, he stated:
€œWe€™re still on it. Will share update when I have one. The performance isn't good enough in all cases. For most folks, it€™d be fine. For some, it wouldn't be. We've never blamed anyone or anything. It€™s our problem, and it€™s on us to solve it.€
That may be all well and good, but the fact that the PS3 console is now the only major platform not to have received any DLC at all for the title may finally lead to fans giving up hope with Bethesda's dallying and turning their attentions to different titles this Christmas.
