Skyrim: Killing These NPCs Breaks EVERYTHING
Andurs
Another Whiterun local, Andurs is a Nord Priest of Arkay who some players of the game might not have ever even met before. The priest is the main keeper of the Whiterun Catacombs and Hall of the Dead, rarely ever leaving the building and instead focusing all of his energies in maintaining the graves and preparing any of the hold's recently deceased for the afterlife.
It's certainly a thankless job, but Andurs does at least offer a small side quest to kill a couple of skeletons for his loose change to those players who take the time to visit him.
Whilst it's easy to think of this old priest as just another throwaway character, there's a surprising amount of lore hidden around Andurs. For example, there are records of him being friendly with various other Priests of Arkay around Skyrim and even receiving visits from the likes of Runil, the old Altmer priest from Falkreath.
There are also a couple of fetch and deliver side missions attached to the priest, with Alessandra, the graveyard tender in Riften, asking players to deliver her personal dagger to Andurs. Being welcomed at the Hall of the Dead by Andurs is also handy in helping players stumble upon their first Stones of Barenziah, one of which can be found inside one of the crypts.
Andurs is another handy NPC to turn to in an early playthrough, offering some of the easiest bits of gold a player is ever likely to come across, plus some good opportunities to level up. He's also an upstanding member of his trade across the country and pretty much the only man stopping Whiterun's dead from running absolute riot across the town.
