Honestly? We're a little surprised that Goichi "Suda51" Suda's beam katana-wielding otaku and assassin hasn't already been selected to appear in past Smash titles. Barring a 360 and PS3 port of the original No More Heroes, the series has remained synonymous with Nintendo since its inception and continues to attract a cult following.

Nintendo doesn't own the character, but that's never stopped it before, and with a trilogy-making Switch exclusive sequel (Travis Strikes Again) penned in for launch later this year, now's as good a time as any to reserve a space for the wrestling enthusiast to lock horns with the best Nintendo has to offer.
