Smash Bros Ultimate: 10 Characters Who Could Be The Final DLC
6. Sobble/Scorbunny/Grookey
While most other entries here are focussing on slightly neglected franchises, Pokémon doesn’t have that problem. With classic characters Pikachu and Jigglypuff alongside Pichu, Lucario, Greninja, MewTwo, Incineroar and the Pokémon Trainer with Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard, it’s fair to say they’re well represented.
Of course, with close to 1000 Pokémon, they have more recognisable characters than most too, and you could probably fill the list with pocket monster entries. No Machamp, the archetypal Fighting ‘mon, feels like a strange one to leave out, for example.
With DLC though, it’s likely to be new characters it focusses on; that puts Galar starters Sobble, Scorbunny and Grookey in the spotlight. If they do come, there’s two distinct ways the game could do this.
Firstly, like with Incineroar promoting Gen VII’s Sun & Moon, the most suited final starter evolution from Gen VIII could join. Right now, it looks likely to be Scorbunny with yet another Fire Fighting type potentially on the horizon.
Considering Sword & Shield’s gimmick is Dynamaxing though, why not just Dynamax one or all of the starters? The mechanic sees them balloon to a Godzilla like size, but if they grow to say, Ridley size for balance, it could definitely work.
