Sony At Paris Games Week: 7 PS4 Reveals We Want To See
4. A Look At The New PSVR Model
Very recently, Sony dropped the rather surprising news that a new version of the PSVR headset was coming soon.
It's not going to be drastically different, but will include some new quality-of-life features such as integrated headphones and a slimmer connection cable. Perhaps one of the biggest changes is the fact that the VR headset no longer needs to be disconnected in order to view HDR through your TV (although it does still need to be turned off).
Despite Sony's initial announcement only mentioning North America, it seems likely that the headset will come to other regions as well. The design of the headset has supposedly changed slightly, so Paris Games Week seems to be the perfect time to reveal its new look. It's not quite important enough to warrant precious E3 time, and Paris Games Week has been used as a platform for PSVR in the past.
Sony have maintained strong support for their virtual reality headset, and the machine itself has sold over one million units worldwide since its launch just over a year ago. Recently, Sony announced a number of new titles for the headset, so it wouldn't be surprising at all to see it all show up at Paris Games Week.
