Sony's E3 Press Conference: 10 Key Details And Games That Stood Out

10. Recap From Pre-E3 Events

timthumb In the modern digital era, electronics rarely serve a singular purpose. Smartphones are extremely versatile, E-Books perform a variety of additional functions, and gaming consoles have expanded to perform a wide variety of applications. Game consoles now offer internet connectivity, social media integration, and multiple variations of television episode and full-length-film streaming, and that's just on current-gen consoles. However, Microsoft made the enhancement of these features their primary selling point in the XBOX One reveal, a move that resulted in PR hell for them until the expansion upon the console today at E3. Thus, Microsoft atoned for their ill-advised priorities by teasing a slew of games, titles such as Ryse, Halo 5 (I think that's the name?), and Forza 5 headlining a list of visually appealing games. Sony, in contrast, revealed relatively little about peripherals, functions, or even the physical appearance of their console in the first reveal, only shedding minor light on some of the features of the system, as well as teasing only three games of note. Those four were Killzone: Shadow Fall, Infamous: Second Son, and Watch Dogs. And even considering the minor press given to Sony's launch titles, the overall impression is that they still managed to create a more successful event than the XBOX One's reveal. As a result, consumers were more aware of concrete details regarding the XBOX One than the PlayStation 4. As a result, Sony fans were largely looking forward to today: we were hungry for details regarding the next console.
