Spelunky Coming To XBLA In July

Spelunky is now set to release on July 4, with a pricing of 1200 MP. Spelunky is one of those rare gaming addictions you find yourself continuously playing, over and over again. At its most basic level it's a simple platformer filled with dozens of items, traps, monsters, and secrets. With traps and monsters around every corner death should be considered a guarantee, not a possibility. Yet, this is where the game shines. It encourages players to develop their skills. With each death, you will need to start the game over in a completely new, randomly-generated level. You won't have to worry about playing through the same level, and instead focus on developing your skills with each new playthrough in order to see how far you can reach before death washes over you. Levels are fully destructible. This means that you will be able to play with an amazing sense of freedom, but be careful, this freedom could consequently mean your death. Stay on your toes in them there caves! Let me show you an example of what I mean.

Spelunky even includes four player co-op while you adventure, and even a deathmatch component that has been compared to a platforming version of Bomberman. Surely, there will be those of you who refuse to play cooperatively and feel the need to prove your superiority.
