Spider-Man PS4: 5 Things It Did Better Than The Arkham Series (And 5 Things It Did Worse)
3. Rogues Gallery
Unfortunately for Spider-Man, Batman has arguably the greatest selection of villains of all time. With four games and multiple DLCs, the Arkham series does justice to almost every last one of them.
A brief list of Rogues Gallery members that appear throughout the games includes Joker, Bane, Scarecrow, Two-Face, Ra's al Ghul, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn and countless more. Each one is written brilliantly by the teams at Rocksteady and WB Montreal.
Some of them are even voiced by fan favourite voice-actors like Mark Hamill reprising his role as Joker from Batman: The Animated Series. An episode of BTAS was even turned into a DLC storyline for Arkham Origins, named Cold, Cold Heart, which followed the events of Mr Freeze’s origin story.
Just like the Side Missions mentioned earlier, Spider-Man does its best with what it's got considering his own Rogues Gallery. The reason why the top spot for villains is up for debate is because of the roster Spider-Man has. He has almost equally classic bad-guys like Vulture, Electro, Dr Octopus, Wilson Fisk, Taskmaster and Black Cat, all of which and many more play their part in Spider-Man PS4’s storyline.
It is brilliant for Spider-Man fans to see just one video game jam-packed with so many of his villains. Compared to the Arkham Series, Batman just has a bigger and "badder" selection.
Winner: Batman
