Spider-Man PS4: 6 Things You Need To Know About The City That Never Sleeps

4. ...But What Will They Include?

Spider-Man PS4 Kingpin
Insomniac

Although Insomniac stopped just short of unveiling the specific themes for the second and third chapters of The City That Never Sleeps, there are obvious angles they could look to explore in them. For starters, the title of the second episode - 'Turf Wars' - implies factional violence in New York City, and with Wilson Fisk likely to reemerge after his incarceration, it wouldn't be out of the question for another group to challenge him for the throne of NYC's criminal underworld.

As for what groups could appear - well, there's always the possibility that The Hand could make their gaming debut. Daredevil and his wide array of supporting characters have already been confirmed thanks to various tie-in material, and with Insomniac clearly enthused by the idea of their Spidey game occupying a space within the Marvel Universe, we could yet see the DLC attempt to further integrate it with cameos and appearances from non-Spidey characters.

The third chapter however - 'Silver Lining' - sounds particularly interesting. Silver Sable is already set to play a prominent role in the main story, commanding a private army of her own under the supervision of Mayor Norman Osborn, but it's possible she could adopt a more traditional role as an anti-hero in the DLC, perhaps even operating with her mercenary group known as the Wild Pack.

Of course, the title itself isn't confirmation that Sable will appear. As far as hints go however, it seems fairly blatant.

Content Producer/Presenter

WhatCulture's very own resident movie guy, Ewan has been working in the content creation biz for over 10 years now, having started as a freelance contributor to WhatCulture Gaming all the way back in 2015. After graduating with a First-Class Honours in History from Northumbria University in 2017 (where he won a prize for a totally killer dissertation on the Watergate years), Ewan took on the role of Comics Editor at WhatCulture and quickly developed WhatCulture Comics into one of the biggest superhero-focused channels on YouTube. He followed this with a brief hiatus at Screen Rant in 2021, where he worked across the Gaming and Film sections as a writer and editor, before returning to WhatCulture as a Senior Content Producer / Presenter in 2023. He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well. In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
