Splinter Cell The Animated Series: 10 Things It Must Include
2. A Callback to Sam's Training
We are yet to learn when or where the series is to be set, but a journey of Sam's introduction to Third Echelon would be welcomed. The show may have potentially limited time to explore the creation of the government strand, but an episode chronicling the reasoning behind both its establishment and Sam's introduction would enhance the character's standing with the audience.
The training levels in the games are iconic in their own right and watching as Sam develops his skills would be hugely enjoyable.
We are given tastes of what life was like for Sam in his military days, but the connection to Lambert, the NSA and ultimately his ideology after the tragedies he's suffered would make for enthralling viewing.
An animated series suggests a tone that appeals to a wider audience, which means it needs to engage with a generation that will quite literally not have been around when the first titles came to consoles in the early 2000s. Affording the audience time to grasp the motivations of its pivotal characters - and the directive of Third Echelon - will engage a whole new portion of fans.
