Star Trek Video Game: Mega Preview & Interview With SVP Of Paramount Brian Miller

Gameplay

enterprise in space Right from the get-go, compassion have been made to Mass Effect. The run and hide gameplay looked very similar to the BioWare epic. There are similarities but Star Trek The Video Game maintains its own identity. You are given the option to play as either Kirk or Spock and you get a different perspective with each character. At one point, Spock performs a mind-meld on a Gorn which opens up a level where you play as the Gorn, you only get that if you play as Spock. Spock is much more tactical in his approach that the more eager Kirk. Each character also has specific mini games. We played as Spock and had to work with Kirk to escape many hair raising moments that included opening locks whilst hiding from the bursts of fire from Space Station vents. These sections appeared often in the bits we played, very much like how Uncharted gave you exhilarating set piece after exhilarating set piece. At one point we had to perform a space dive towards the Enterprise and make sure we didn't hit any space junk on the way. It was a lot of fun to play and looked great. But the bit we really loved was being able to walk around the Enterprise. Sit in the Captain's chair or take the turbo lift to different parts of the ship and see the interior in far more detail than we did on screen. We even get to ride in the Galileo shuttlecraft.
