6. Kylo & Luke Are Playable In The Campaign

It was very easy to miss this, being the reveal trailer at Star Wars Celebration centred entirely on newcomer Iden Versio, but one of the juiciest parts of Battlefront 2's press release details playing as both Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren.

Now, this is where it gets interesting. We know that SWB II takes place between Episode VI and VII, and being The Last Jedi picks up directly where The Force Awakens left off, there's a whole lot of ageing for Luke to do in that time - not to mention the growing pains of Kylo alongside. We know DICE have been let in on some of Episode VIII's plans (they're offering The Last Jedi skins as a pre-order bonus), so does this mean we'll be playing as Luke and Kylo alongside Versio as the trio forge their paths in that furtive three decade period?

DICE's Mark Thompson noted that "switching perspectives from protagonist to antagonist is a staple of Star Wars storytelling", so there's definitely more to Versio's Imperialistic campaign than we think.

That said, Battlefront II happily includes all eras and iconography of Star Wars, meaning we could be jumping into past scenes, just for fun. Luke tackling Jabbas goons? Kylo helping thin the rebel ranks on Takodana? It's all up for grabs.
