Star Wars Battlefront 2: 10 Things Fans Need To See
5. Some Actual Weapon Balance
Right, I get it. EA's Battlefront isn't meant to be some hardcore competitive shooter, instead it's its own, casual thing; something you're meant to dip in and out of whenever you're craving some Star Wars-y violence that your previous-gen library simply can't accommodate.
I get that, but that's no excuse for an imbalanced multiplayer, especially when the issues are so glaringly obvious.
The 'Star Card' system, for starters, is completely broken. Players who fancy saving up for some of the most expensive in-game costumes are immediately put at a loss because, unlike the vast majority of Battlefront-ians, they aren't plugging their credits into an endless loop of scan-pulses, explosive-shots and bubble shields.
Firefights morph from a contest of positioning and accuracy into who can simply hit triangle the quickest to outdo their opponent, and don't even get me started on the general state of Fighter Squadron; A-Wings rule the skies and other fighter craft melt away so quickly that battles just aren't worth pursuing.
Even the most recent piece of DLC fails to overwrite such problems, turning what should have been a fun and engaging jump into the Death Star into a frustrating fracas of explosives and A-Wings (in that order).
I know Battlefield isn't the most balanced shooter out their either, but it's infinitely more enjoyable when compared to Battlefront. Fix these issues, and the sequel could be so much better.
