Starfighter Assault was by far, one of the best improvements to Battlefront II, sporting better flight controls, more interesting maps and objective based gameplay.

And yet, one of its defining flaws is the lack of content for that mode. Now that Starfighter Assault has proven to be a hit with fans, this is the time for EA to take advantage of its popularity.

There’s no shortage to choose from. Previously, I mentioned maps for Jakku and Starkiller Base, but they could look to the prequels and give us the Battle over Coruscant. They could even draw upon The Clone Wars and centre a map around the Malevolence, General Grievous’ capital ship, with the Republic having to evade the ship’s ion-cannon while also driving to disable and ultimately destroy the ship.

There are so many avenues where EA could go in developing the Starfighter Assault mode, by adding more ships, objectives types, and maps for either new or existing planets.

Galactic Assault has 11 maps to its name, while Starfighter Assault only has 5. It’s time the scales were balanced between the game’s two core modes.

And where’s our Death Star trench run?
