Star Wars Battlefront 2 Reviews: 11 Early Reactions You Need To Know

6. Starfighter Assault Is The Standout Mode

While the original Battlefront attempted to make space combat part of the game’s multiplayer suite, it never quite succeeded in making it fun enough to function as its own isolated game type or integrate it naturally into the other multiplayer modes.

For better or for worse though, the developers have decided to limit space combat to its own specific suite in Battlefront 2, a move which has apparently paid off in spades.

The controls for piloting starships are apparently tighter than ever, with aerial dogfights between TIE-Fighters and X-Wings feeling visceral, intense and intuitive. Even from the beta you got the sense that a lot of effort had been put into making this part of the game a standout feature, and if early impressions are to be believed, that hard work has paid off.
