4. Campaign Set-Pieces Are Amazing (But Lack Variety)

Despite the story itself being a tad disappointing, the actual gameplay - and in particular the major set-pieces - seem to be going down extremely well with both critics and players alike.

The major moments, in particular the opening mission as well as the few space battles to be found in the sequel, are said to do the franchise’s best action beats justice, and highlight what the single-player could have been if the devs had increased the scope of it a little bit.

However, while they undeniably aren't lacking in spectacle, there have been some players who have argued that the campaign relies far too heavily on repeated mission types to ever reach the epic heights that these set-pieces tease.

Divided into “kill x amount of dudes” and “defend this character for x amount of minutes” missions, despite its short length Battlefront 2 doesn't have enough variety to keep things engaging for the whole ride.
