The flip-side to that coin is the other interpretation of 'The Last Jedi heroes' i.e. the versions of established characters as they now appear in Episode VIII.

It would make perfect business sense for EA to withhold Luke's new attire/aesthetic as a pre order-only exclusive - or a DLC character - and being EA, I guarantee it's definitely been talked about.

Naturally, this would incense the fanbase, so here's hoping that post-The Last Jedi's first trailer (which is scheduled to drop Friday April 12th), we'll start getting more details on how Luke is being incorporated into the final game.

There's also the fact of characters like Finn and Poe, who are nowhere to be seen in this initial leak. Both them and Rey's new look are absent, leaving quite the substantial gap for EA to fill either at Star Wars Celebration or later this June at E3.

Fingers crossed Battlefront II isn't going to include Episode VIII content in the same fashion as the original did Rogue One. Maps and characters are fun enough, but we want full story integration and memorability, not 'optional extras'.
