Star Wars Battlefront 2 Wishlist: 12 Things Fans Need To See

11. Overhaul Hero/Villain Controls

The way you control heroes feels like a callback to the Jedi Academy games - that sensation of 'piloting' a character model around the field, as oppose to having any real agency over their abilities or momentum. Basically, we want to feel empowered when playing as these iconic figures - not glorified skins with only three additional abilities.

It might be too much to ask for decapitating lightsaber attacks given EA are targeting the 'entire world' demographic, but Pandemic's 2000s originals at least gave lightsaber wielders some combos to bust out, alongside a wider moveset overall.

Yes, we have clashes between 'sabers if two heavy attacks met in the middle, but they were severely hampered by lag and/or animation issues. Playing as a hero or villain should feel just as considered and tactile as that of a foot soldier, albeit with a bigger array of abilities. As it stands, you tend to hop into the skin of someone like Vader or Luke, flail around offing targets and get kicked back to your regular boots in minutes.

There should be such a thing as 'a good [X hero] player' or 'a good [x villain] player', and I don't mean someone who can spam Lando's Power Blast.
