Starfield: 10 Best Side Missions You Must Find

Taking players into quirkier fare than usual by the fantastical standards of the game, A Tree Grows In New Atlantis starts off on a noble note. The Spacefarer encounters a scientist out to save the trees of New Atlantis, all of which appear to be liquefying.

This eccentric side quest provides players with an intriguing look into one of Starfield's most complex locations. The introduction of New Atlantis scientist Kelton Frush proves to be the tip of the iceberg in discovering the many depths and issues running through the underbelly of the area.

Rich in lore and world-building, the side quest also sees players encounter a mysterious and ancient tree in poor health. The tree's deteriorating state reflects the nature of New Atlantis which, despite technically being an advanced and successful city, is also sterile and eery.

Many players have taken issue with the relatively clean-cut, monotonous style of the New Atlantis location. However, its status as both the best and worst of a potential high-tech dystopia is exactly why its futuristic, bleak aesthetic is so effective and on-point. Its side quests, particularly this introductory one, are an excellent reflection of its thematic power.
