Super Smash Bros. Switch: 10 Overpowered Characters It Must Fix

2. Diddy Kong

Super Smash Bros
Nintendo

Diddy Kong became notorious in Smash for Wii U's competitive scene for how overpowered he was, especially with his throws and long reach.

Although he may have been heavily nerfed since launch, Diddy Kong is still one of the most powerful characters in the Smash roster. Diddy is a grappling character who excels when it comes to keeping a player in combos and getting them to high percentages.

Diddy's grappling ability was initially so powerful that he could keep fighters stuck in his grip several times over, which is especially dangerous in Smash as throws are actually really effective ways of knocking the enemy out.

Besides that, Diddy also has some good damage potential and speed, although his special moves are a bit lacklustre. His recovery is the only thing that truly keeps him grounded as it needs to be charged to be effective. but changing his throws would definitely go some way to keeping him from being overpowered again.

Granted, even with the nerfs he received on the Wii U, he still managed to be a top-tier character, so who knows what will happen with him next?
