4. Acknowledge ECW's Part In Wrestling History
Even though very few people in the WWE would like to admit it, ECW was the catalyst of The Attitude Era. Vince McMahon saw the traction that Paul Heyman was achieving on a much smaller scale in Philadelphia and jumped on that bandwagon. Keeping WWE in touch with late 1990s popular culture and the need for more risky content on television. ECW also saw the birth of the biggest star in professional Wrestling history, Stone Cold Steve Austin. Not by name, but the first shoots of the Stone Cold attitude shone through when Steve joined ECW after being fired by WCW. Admittedly, Vince didn't see it at first as he decided to bring Steve Austin in as The Ringmaster, but he got there in the end. The shift to a more hardcore style of wrestling was also of ECW's doing, and something that both WCW and WWE capitalised on. Imagine what the Monday Night Wars would have been like if ECW didn't push the envelope and show fans of a certain demographic what could be achieved in the squared circle. It's about time all of this is accepted and acknowledged by Vince McMahon and WWE.
