Telltale's Game Of Thrones: 5 Intense Moments From Episode 1

5. Re-Living The Red Wedding

The first episode begins with the most traumatising event of the series so far. The Forrester camp is enjoying the night€™s festivities like everyone else. Gared Tuttle, Lord Forrester€™s squire, is sent off too fetch more wine with fellow squire Bowen. While doing so, Gared notices Frey soldiers arming themselves while the familiar tune of The Rains of Castamere echoes from the Twins. Sure enough, all hell breaks loose as you are forced to experience the Red Wedding all over again. While you may not initially have as much of an emotional connection with Gared or Lord Forrester as Robb and Catelyn, the Red Wedding is still a potent event of shocking violence. This sequence acts as a good companion piece to the show, as it lets you view the fall of House Stark from the ground level. Telltale also takes advantage of this scene to force the player into the first of many difficult choices. Do you save your friend Bowen or concentrate on saving Lord Forrester? The writing is good enough in this scene that, despite limited screen time, you do care when Lord Forrester dies. And with that the stage is set for the rest of the series.
