The Switch has a plethora of controllers to choose from, be it the Joy Con either individually or in the grip, the Pro Controller, the Gamecube controller, or anything else third-party that works with the system.

Tetris 99 at least supports the Pro and Joy-Cons, but as you'll be making heavy use of the D-pad, the Joy-Con L is drastically superior to the Pro.

Why?

Because of those independent buttons comprising the D-pad itself. Knowing you're specifically pushing up, left, right or down rather than the potential of a diagonal on a D-pad might sound like the most pernickety thing ever, but it makes a world of difference.

Everyone’s preferences are different, so if you’re not sure your controller is helping you out in this battle royale, try switching things up.
