The Amazing Spider-Man: Stan Lee Role Confirmed?
Spider-Man creator said to be a playable character in the upcoming Beenox/Activision video game.
The granddaddy of Marvel comics has told Addict of Fiction that he will be a playable character in Beenox's upcoming Amazing Spider-Man game, bringing an end to years of fan yearning to have the legend in one of the comic company's games. Here he is telling a techni-colour haired inquisitor that he will make an appearance in the Activision published title: http://youtu.be/9dRU3LOzVgI Odd, but then I suppose it fits with Lee's recent behaviour, as followers of his Twitter account will no doubt attest to. I personally will take the claim with a pinch of salt until Activision come out and confirm it, but I can't help but feel a little disappointed that it wasn't the Marvel vs Capcom franchise that saw Stan's first appearance in a Marvel game. This news follows the revellation of Rhino in the latest trailer for the game. Here's the official synopsis from Beenox.
The game picks up where the film ends. Parker is thrown into a new exciting storyline fighting a variety of baddies to try and save New York from devastation. This trailer shows Spider-Man putting his new web slinging skills to use moving seamlessly from buildings, New York landmarks such as the Brookyln Bridge before coming face to face with Rhino himself.Quite how Stan will fit in remains to be seen: I'm hoping a horde style online mode, whereby Lee has to fight off rampant hordes of over-excited Comic Book Guys, hell-bent on getting his autograph no matter what the price. That probably won't happen to be fair, but then I never thought I'd ever write about Stan Lee being a playable character in a genuine commercially released video game either. The Amazing Spider-Man will be released later this year.
