1. Infamous 2
Infamous 2 is sadly one of the most underrated games of 2011. This second installment follows many of the same attributes that made the original a stand out, a deep single player campaign and huge sandbox for players to run around in. It has everything you want in a super hero game. The writing in Infamous 2 is fantastic, you have to believe Christopher Nolans films had a small influence on the series. Cole Macgrath is edgy and forced to make tough choices that significantly affects how the game ends. The game's presentation mimics Coles choices with the New Marais being darker and grittier compared to Infamous 1s Empire City. We cant talk about Infamous 2 without talking about the ending. You have two choices once your reach the ending: Fight alongside the beast or protect the RFI. Either side you pick will leave you breathless, as actions leading up to the ending come into effect. The last thirty minutes of Infamous 2 embodies The Dark Knight Theme. If you chose the heroic option, Cole sacrifices himself for the greater good and is remembered as hero that everyone looks up to. If you choose to fight with Lucy Kuo and enhance the infected, you turn into the thing you sought to destroy. Cole Macgrath was the Harvey Dent of New Marais that it desperately needed and we can only hope we get to see him again in the future.
