The Division 2 Review: 10 Ups & 4 Downs

9. Washington D.C. Is An INCREDIBLE Open World

The first game's New York City setting was always going to be tough to top, but Massive just might've done it with its depiction of a desolate Washington, D.C. reclaimed by nature.

Manoeuvring around this beautifully-crafted world is an absolute joy, and so meticulously is D.C. recreated here that you may well find yourself avoiding the fast travel option at all costs.

While many similar games tend to boast lush exterior environments only for the interior "dungeons" to feel low-detail and samey, that's thankfully not the case here. Many of D.C.'s marquee attractions are slavishly recreated, perhaps most mesmerisingly the Air and Space Museum.

Whether inside or out, though, The Division 2's vision of Washington is one that's easy to get lost in, and only enhances the ridiculously addictive, compelling nature of the core gameplay loop.
