12. The First CONFIRMED Character... Is Skyrim Grandma

One of the Elder Scrolls community's most famous players is Shirley Curry, known to the majority of the community as Skyrim Grandma. A passionate fan of Skyrim, she shot to fame streaming the game on YouTube to her near half a million subscribers.

Mentioning that she would probably be 88 by the time the next Elder Scrolls game released and that she probably wouldn't get to play it, Curry inspired her fans to start a Change.org petition in 2018.

Those fans wanted the then 82-year-old immortalized in the game in some way; either appearing as an NPC (non-player character) or having some unique weapon or location named after her in some way to honour the usually gentile streamer.

And, with over 49,000 signees, Bethesda listened to the fans. During their 25th Anniversary panel at PAX in 2019, a video was released celebrating The Elder Scrolls and showing off some of the techniques being used to bring the next game in the series to life.
