Characters & Pokèmon: More Of The Same

We have seen our fair share of characters in the past; some we love, and others we couldn't wait to see be gone from our screen. I'm wondering if they will go the usual approach in terms of characters, or if they might mix it up a little bit. For example, in Pokémon Yellow, the game alternates from your standard 3 starters to having Pikachu. With this, we see another familiar face in the form of Team Rocket, a team I hope would return at some point in the video game instead of the relatively odd yet interesting storyline of N. They will more than likely have us talking to a new professor as well at the beginning, and I was wondering what their names will be, because surely they must running out of trees by now? Also, the Pokémon themselves seem to all have similar patterns in each gen. As an example, the standard 2 bird evolution pattern is nearly always there with Pidgey, Pidove, and Starly with Spearow, Hoothoot, and Wingull. However, from what I have seen of the new Pokémon, they seems slightly more creative, with the exclusion of Honedge, which is just your standard object with a face, kind of like Voltorb. Another new change we will see will be in terms of type, and how the new game will have Fairy type, which will combat against the previously overpowered Dragon type. This means that you can finally see a Clefairy or Jigglypuff kick a Dragonite's ass. Cool, huh?
