1. Abby Kills Joel In The First Two Hours
Many fans predicted that Joel was going to die in The Last Of Us Part 2, but it’s hard to believe anyone could have predicted how it was going to happen.
After Abby convinces Joel and Tommy to join her back at her crew's location, she then shoots Joel in the leg with a shotgun and proceeds to beat him to death with a golf club, much to the horror of both the player and Ellie, who can do nothing to save him.
The death of a beloved video game character is always a hard pill to swallow, but it’s easy to understand the shock and anger generated by fans over the decision to kill Joel so early, alongside the way he dies.
It could be argued that Joel was always going to face consequences for what he did at the end of the first game, and that his death fits the brutal and unjust world of The Last Of Us.
On the flip side, detractors argue that it does a great disservice to Joel as a character, and could even damage any future titles in the series.
