Although writer Neil Druckmann was undeniably instrumental in the success of The Last of Us (as well as Uncharted 4), the input of co-director and lead game designer Bruce Straley shouldn't be overlooked. The dev worked on a multitude of titles while at Naughty Dog, helping pioneer both the high-octane action of the Uncharted franchise as well as the survival horror-inspired gameplay of TLOU.

Sadly though, the developer left Naughty Dog at the end of Uncharted 4, which opened up a huge gap in the production of this sequel. He's been replaced with the equally-capable Anthony Newman and Kurt Margenaum, who have been with the company since Uncharted 2, but the absence of the former director is still an elephant in the room.

No matter how good these developers may be - and judging on their experience they're at the top of their game - it's a shame to see Straley missing out on the sequel.
