The Legend Of Bum-Bo: 10 Things You Need To Know

6. The Designs Are All Cardboard Based

THE LEGEND OF bum-bo

While the art design is very much similar to Isaac, The Legend of Bum-Bo has an interesting design quirk, all the models are based on cardboard cutouts. This is a far more ambitious decision than Isaac's original flash animation and eventual switch to 16 bit.

According to co-creator James Id, this decision was inspired by the childhoods of both creators, which would involve utilising cardboard to create their own games. The decision very much looks to be a success as the style captures the spirit of its predecessor while also feeling fresh and new.

If we see enemies on the scale of Mega Satan return for this game, it will be a wonder watching them be realised in this brand new design style.
