The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening Remake - 10 Things We Can't Wait To See
6. Easter Eggs
The original Link’s Awakening was riddled with little treats and surprises for those dedicated gamers who took the time to explore every single inch of Koholint Island.
Wait long enough in a certain room and you get to hear music from Yoshi’s Island and Mario Paint. Attack enough docile, harmless cuccos and eventually they’ll fight back on mass. Sprinkle magic dust on a skeleton and it’ll wake up and give you a hint.
None of these things amount to much on their own. But when it comes to Easter eggs, it’s not so much about what you find but the satisfaction of having found it. Especially in 1993 when you couldn’t rely on the internet to tell you which wall or bomb or how to make your Bow Wow eat a monkey.
Hopefully Grezzo have incorporated these older Easter eggs into their remake. Better yet, how many new Easter eggs have they thrown in to surprise us all over again? We’ll be combing the beaches of Koholint, just waiting to find something that makes us feel like it’s 1993 again and we’re the smartest, and smuggest, kid on the playground.
