The Order: 1886 - 15 Easter Eggs, References & In Jokes You Must See

13. Zelda

During the brothel sequence, if you explore the tables, you'll find a picture of a prostitute - basically the equivalent of the lady of the night leaving her card in a phone box in modern terms - which you can interact with. When you turn it over, it reveals a kiss print left in red lipstick and the name of the lady - Zelda. Now, that's not an entirely unique name - and frankly, it's a bit prostitutey - so it could just be a coincidence that one of the in universe characters would be called Zelda, but the fact that it was consciously chosen, within a video game environment by developers who have already proved themselves students of game history suggests it wasn't accidental. And it's nice to imagine that Sony are having a sly dig at Nintendo and Zelda's honour.
