The Outer Worlds Review: Much More Than Fallout In Space
Obsidian are back on consoles.
Rating: ★★★★☆
Today, thanks to the rogue traders of the space highway that are Obsidian and Private Division I have had early access to their new title The Outer Worlds and now I can finally give you my thought’s impressions and yes, overall score, for the title. Is this a space opera that touches down in style, or does it find itself jettisoned from the airlock shortly after launch? Well, let’s have a chat.
To begin with, a little backstory on the title. The Outer Worlds is the culmination of a longstanding partnership between Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, whose names hold a lot of weight with Fallout fans, seeing as they created the franchise, and the pair have been working on The Outer Worlds since 2016.
It has been a long development with a tonne of ups and downs along the way, especially recently with the announcement that the Steam version of this title would be a year behind those set to drop on rival storefronts.
However, I'm here to talk about the game itself, and I am pleased to announce that The Outer Worlds hits its major selling points with such confidence, it’s easy to overlook some of the stumbling points you might find.
